Vostok AMFIBIA Red Sea 44mm Automatic Watch Model: 040690
Unlike most dive watches on the market, Vostok AMFIBIA is Russian through and through!
Dating back to 1967, Amfibia was the first Soviet diving watch designed exclusively for its Navy. Over 50 years later, this unique timepiece employs the same technology, which relies on outside pressure to tightly sealitscase. As the watch gets submerged, the surrounding water pressure increases, which in turn seals and pressurises the case. The ingenuity ofthisdesign factored in distortion caused by increasing water pressure into the tolerance of the watch.

Amfibia RED SEA represents what could be the most significant part of Soviet watchmaking history, incorporating revolutionary design and unique 'Vostok' aesthetic.
Built like every other Vostok, hence like a Russian tank, this watch is tough, rugged and functional. With its 44mm case this Amfibia looks masculine and quite distinctive on the wrist, provided that you like your watches on the larger side.
The in-house manufactured and assembled movement is robust and durable with an accuracy somewhere around +25 / -30 seconds out of the box. This could be easily calibrated, although isn't generally an issue for most. We are not huge fans of the shiny bracelet and would opt for a leather or silicone alternative, although the team was somewhat divided on this topic with some preferring the original look. We'll let you decide on that one and post your photos and suggestions on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
Overall, it's hard not to fall in love with this Amfibia Red Sea. Not as quirky as its Scuba Dude predecessors, this model spots a unique 'Vostok' design and despite its aesthetic refinements is more than capable of being submerged below 200m or being flown into outer space.
Equally at home at the depth of the ocean floor or chairing a boardroom meeting, this Amfibia Red Sea would make a great addition to any discerning watch enthusiast or collector. Moreover, at this price point, there aren't many competitors that could boast similar functionality and unique aesthetics that would make its wearer stand out of the crowd.
